Philosophy
Custom-designed websites that work for you.
Hi! Welcome to my site.
I love website design! I find it incredibly rewarding to take design ideas and resources and turn them into a functioning website. Good websites support your brand, provide an information resource, create an online presence, and so much more.
There are three separate and equally important aspects of a website: design, content, and architecture.
Graphic design can pull your customers in or frighten them away. It creates the feel of your site and provides an immediate impression of your philosophy. Good design is an incredible asset, bad design is an equally incredible liability.
Content is equally as important as design. Compelling content gives visitors a reason to explore your site beyond the home page. It's important to know your audience and use the same tone and vocabulary as they do.
However, the most beautiful, compelling website is worthless if visitors can't find what they are looking for - this is where the architecture comes in. For every page of your website, you should know:
- how this page fits with the rest of the site
- who is interested in this page, and why
- what you want your audience to do with this page
Process
1. Estimate - First, you fill out a client discovery form that helps me to understand your products/services, expectations, resources, preferences and target market. I review the information and call you for a free 15 minute consultation. This phase ends with me sending you a time and schedule estimate for review.
2. Discovery/Strategy - Upon approval of the estimate, I research your market and product/service while you complete the research form. I combine the results into a strategic plan that outlines your expectations and goals for the website along with some basic design, content, architecture, and navigation recommendations.
3. Design (me) & Content (you) - While you review the strategy document and pull together content, I work on the graphic design and provide you with some options.
4. Production - Once you've chosen and approved one of the site designs, I take the images and convert them into a website, using the content that you provide. I then fully optimize the site and test it on all active browsers and computer platforms.
5. Implementation and Training - The site goes live and I walk you through any training required for maintaining your site. I submit your site to all major search engines (but I cannot guarantee rankings).
